As General Contractor for the City of Memphis, Zellner Construction led the streetscape improvements for Phases 1B and 1C of downtown’s revitalization plan. The project focused on repairing and replacing concrete and brick sidewalks across several blocks and alleys in the city core, ensuring continuous access for businesses and pedestrians throughout construction. In addition to infrastructure upgrades, Zellner installed new site furnishings and landscaping to enhance the pedestrian experience. ADA compliance was a key element of the scope, with all sidewalk replacements designed to meet modern accessibility standards. With downtown activity and stakeholder operations in full swing, Zellner carefully coordinated staging and scheduling to minimize disruptions. These enhancements supported the City’s broader vision of a more walkable, welcoming, and vibrant downtown – laying the groundwork for future growth and community engagement in Memphis’s urban center.
