Zellner Construction partnered with the University of Mississippi to renovate and expand the historic Johnson Commons West, originally built in 1964. The 48,000-square-foot, two-story building underwent a complete interior and exterior transformation to meet the University’s need for a modern, centralized dining hub.
The revitalized space now features a “Marketplace Dining” concept with four fresh-food restaurant stations, a full-service catering kitchen, administrative offices, and culinary classrooms. A contemporary glass façade and outdoor balcony seamlessly integrate with the campus’s traditional aesthetic, blending functionality with timeless design.
Today, Johnson Commons West serves as the primary dining facility for the Oxford campus, reflecting Ole Miss’s commitment to enhancing student experience while honoring its architectural heritage.
